Jekyll Island Field Trip Blog
This blog is a documentary of the 7th grade student's overnight field trip to study the bio-diversity and ecology of the Georgia Coast. The students are divided into teams. Each team is given a camera. As they attend their on-location classes out in the marshes, on the beaches, in the slough, on the docks, etc. each team takes pictures. The cameras are returned briefly to a tech guru who uploads the images to this photojournal immediately after the classes. Moms and dads back at home, and friends and family all over the world can see that learning is irresistible! Special teams of students also create video podcasts of their classes.

I must confess being partial to this school website as I set it all up in August, 2005. MabryOnline is actually a collection of over 100 blogs. Even what appears to be the homepage is a blog. The site served as the schools complete web presence from August, 2005 until July, 2007. During that time the site served up over 30,000,000 files to users all over the world. The site is no longer the official web presence for the school but remains up as an example of best practices for the profession.
Podcast Central is a collection of over 100 podcasts made by the students, teachers, and administration of Mabry Middle School. This blog serves as an excellent resource for exploring the many different ways podcasts can be used in the school setting and posted in a blog as well as at the iTunes store.

Welcome to our Kindergarten Class. Check here to see what's going on in Rm3, Mrs. Wagner's Class. A snippet from a recent post, "I can't believe it's June already. Kindergarten is almost over and your children are looking more and more like 1st graders everyday. Thank you to everyone for the birthday cupcakes and flowers. What a great surprise!
From the site, "Ms. Mercer’s Class Website: Find out what’s going on..." Here is a snippet from a post near the end of school:" This teacher's blog is a very rich resource for the students which includes podcasts of class discussions, the class rules, a ShoutBox where students can compliment each other, and a link to "The Homework Club."

From Ms. Gauley's main page: "Here we are! We go to school in Bengough, Saskatchewan, Canada. We want to share what we are doing in our classroom. Come and see! "

Mrs. Perry's 4th grade blog features links to numerous pictures of students in class, scans of student work, her weekly web picks, and student contributions.

The blog tagline read, "An interactive log for students and parents in my AP Calculus class. This ongoing dialogue is as rich as YOU make it. Visit often and post your comments freely." And a snippet from a recent post starts, "Some 44 years ago (when I was about your age) my father who used to travel a lot, penned a letter to me and enclosed a short article clipped from a magazine. In that letter, he wished for me a life of purpose and joy. The enclosed clipping described such a life and quoted George Bernard Shaw whose words you can read above.
