As a musician who actually initially became interested in technology so I could compose, print, produce, and record music as a young twenty-something right out of college, I am just astounded at how much technology has advanced since those days! I could go on and on about what it was like to record my first project back in the day, but today's post highlights something vastly more fascinating: the band, The 88, has recorded a new single using a $10 app, FourTrack, on the iPhone! I bought FourTrack when it was first released. Even in its first iteration the program was really novel and functional.
Now, I typically find a lot of today's pop music rather aweful, I'm just getting old I guess, but their iPhone recorded song, Love Is the Thing, is indeed catchy. Their novel idea for recording it is will get them a lot of media attention. You can read the details of the recording project, with lots of pictures, at this post on their website. Very clever guys! And you can buy their single at the iTunes store for .99. Why not?! (I include the links to their single wishing them huge success!)
As I've said so many times, the world can now be anything we can imagine. The hard part is the imagining, which requires creativity, which we are killing off in our schools at the very time in our history it would serve humanity best ...
